Acoustic Sculpture

Acoustic Sculpture is designed by Transparent founder Per Brickstad. The object combines sound-absorbing function with an artistic form, developed to reduce ambient noise in interior environments.

Transparent is a design studio known for its focus on the interaction between architecture, light, and sound. The Acoustic Sculpture was developed by the studio in collaboration with researchers from TU Wien, with an emphasis on acoustic effectiveness and spatial presence. It was launched in 2023 and is part of Transparent’s conceptual collection of architectural objects with integrated function.

This is a freestanding sculpture made of white polyester fiber. The material is lightweight, fire-retardant, and contains a high percentage of recycled content. Designed for flexible use, the sculpture is suitable for quiet zones in public spaces, open-plan offices, hotel lobbies, or gallery environments. Its form is visually distinct yet unobtrusive, functioning as both a visual element and acoustic absorber.
